The meeting will take place between 12th May 2020 and 24th May 2020 at the Guildhall in Cambridge, UK

Please note that there will be meetings of the IWC Bureau, the joint Conservation Committee and Scientific Committee Working Group (CC/SC) and the Conservation Committee Planning Group (CCPG) at this year’s SC meetings - further details will be circulated in due course.

Travel & Accommodation

NOTE: Cambridge has 3-pin UK-style electricity sockets (240V) - please bring the approriate adapters for your devices. The Secretariat does not provide these.


PLEASE NOTE that the Guildhall closes every evening at 6 pm and therefore all evening events/meetings will take place at the Red House or the Holiday Inn. This includes small group meetings, drafting groups, etc. The Secretariat will also have work stations and meeting rooms (with wifi and AV), made available at the Red House and Holiday Inn throughout.

Shuttle buses will be provided in the morning (from Holday Inn/Red House to Guildhall), at lunchtime (to/from Guildhall) and in the evening (from Guildhall). ID badges will be required.

Hotel Reservations

  1. Option 1 - Holiday Inn, Histon - £129 per night (this is near the Red House - bus shuttles to be provided to Guildhall. Invited Participants will be based here)
  2. Option 2 - University Arms, Cambridge Centre - £172 per night (walking distance from Guildhall)

NOTE: If you require a visa to enter the UK, please make your application as soon as possible because UK visa processing time can take up to 3 months. Supporting documentation is very important for each application: a personalised letter of invitation including sponsorship details is essential.

Remote Participation (Zoom) & Presentations

If you have a presentation, please send it to at least 24 hours in advance.

If you would like to remotely join a meeting. Please contact the appropriate convenor to seek permission at least 72 hours in advance. We will try to accommodate all requests. However, due to circumstances outside our control, this is not always possible.
