The International Whaling Commission Scientific Committee (IWC-SC) and the Government of Brazil are organising a meeting of the Conservation Management Plans (CMPs) for South American cetaceans, which will take place in Santos, Brazil, from 30 June to 5 July 2025. The workshop aims are to revise information and assess implementation of those CMPs relevant to the region.
 
The workshop will be structured as follows:
  • Southwest Atlantic right whale CMP, 30 June 2025)
  • Southeast Pacific right whale CMP, 30 June 2025
  • South American river dolphins CMP, 1 July 2025.
  • Guiana Dolphin CMP, 2 July 2025]
  • Lahille’s Bottlenose Dolphin CMP, 3 July 2025
  • Franciscana Dolphin CMP, 4 and 5 July 2025

The working languages of the workshop will be English and Spanish and the time zone is -3 hours UTC. The draft agenda is available here
 
The workshop will deal with technical and scientific aspects of the aforementioned CMPs, and experts from the countries involved or with an interest are invited to attend.
